Founded in 1978, Crossroads Theatre Company is a non-profit professional theatre company that made
history when it became New jersey's first professional theatre devoted to the development and production of
works that built upon the African American theatrical canon. The focus of our mission, artistic direction and
management model includes cross-cultural programming that presents the African American Experience
in a broader, more global context. We have expanded performing arts programs with an added focus on
youth and families. We continue to create collaborative partnerships with other performing arts institutions
that strengthen production capabilities and streamline operations while minimizing cost.
